NSO is demanding transparency in clinical trials
NSO supports the international AllTrials initiative for transparency in clinical trials. We believe is is vital for the credibility and accountability of research results that clinical trials are reported.
Transparency in clinical trials is part of the struggle for open access to research, research data and trial results that we believe are necessary for the future possibilities of research and for more qualified and well-informed decision-making.
NSO calls on the Norwegian government to pass legislation requiring clinical trials to be registered and their results to be reported.
NSO encourages norwegian research institutions, higher education institution and other organisations to take part in the petition and call for transparency in clinical trials.
The AllTrials petition
It’s time all clinical trial results are reported.
Patients, researchers, pharmacists, doctors and regulators everywhere will benefit from publication of clinical trial results. Wherever you are in the world please sign the petition:
Thousands of clinical trials have not reported their results; some have not even been registered.
Information on what was done and what was found in these trials could be lost forever to doctors and researchers, leading to bad treatment decisions, missed opportunities for good medicine, and trials being repeated.
All trials past and present should be registered, and the full methods and the results reported.
We call on governments, regulators and research bodies to implement measures to achieve this.
